Sherbet is a fizzy powder, sold as a sweet, that is made from tartaric acid, sugar and bicarbonate of soda.  Sherbet can be found in boiled sweets such as 'Sherbet Lemons', or in cardboard tubes with a liquorice stick.  Sherbet can be eaten on its own or with a lollipop.
